Hi, I’m Alfred, the founder of Island Vision Surf. Let me tell you a little bit about us. I am originally from East Nusa Tenggara but I grew up in Bali. I got introduced to surfing at a young age when I was working on Kuta beach selling drinks and renting surfboards. Ever since surfing has been my whole life. In 2011 I became a certified lifeguard with a Bronze Medallion. Since then I have been working in many different surf schools and surf camps as a lifeguard and surf instructor.
Through surfing, I met many amazing people from all over the world. I was lucky enough to get invited to visit friends overseas who have now become my family. Travelling abroad definitely widened my horizon and gave me the inspiration to work on my own and establish Island Vision Surf.
Island Vision Surf is all about the surfer lifestyle by local Indonesian talent. We offer surf lessons, trips, and coaching as well as professional surf photography and filming around Bali and other islands in Indonesia.
For many of us on Bali beaches, surfing is everything. It’s how we have fun, destress and make a living as well. We want to share with you the experience of surfing and what it can bring to your life.
The name Island Vision Surf came from the idea of all these beautiful islands in Indonesia and what they can offer. We have waves everywhere and we are ready to share them with you. Come experience the surfer’s paradise and let us capture it for you. You make memories and we will capture them for you to keep forever!
In Indonesia, there are so many places that have not yet been discovered by tourists. Our aim is to help you to find more beautiful spots in Indo and at the same time help and work together with the locals in those areas. Island Vision Surf is not only about us but about the whole surfer community and everyone interacting with us. Patient but firm and always giving good feedback and improvement points. Also big plus on good English skills! It is so valuable to also see the videos after each session since you get to see what you need to focus on next time. Highly recommend.
Jackie TanFound Alfred on Instagram for surf photography. Two of my children and their friend first time surfing in Bali. Thought will be interesting to take some nice videos and shots . As they are too far out, we couldn’t really see where they are and picture quality will be compromised. Alfred is the only one that I found that do water shoot at close. Taking the pictures at fish angle really nice and sharp. Though the teenagers only 4 days of surfing , with the photography it definitely make them look pro. 😂 Most important I can see how they are doing and with two extra pair of eyes ( Alfred and his assistant on land to do landscape videos) , I can go for my morning coffee at ease knowing they are safe 😄. Highly recommend him for photography and videos, he is very responsive on messages. Gave him deposit even with seeing him and he turn up on time 6.45 am to pick the teenagers to the beach.
Amy MiaoI did an in-water shoot with Alfred and the photos turned out amazing! They needed very little editing (if any at all) and Alfred was quick to deliver them as well. He also made sure to capture some great candid shots too. Very happy with his service and attention to detail. Definitely don’t hesitate to book with Alfred if you want awesome action shots in the water or a surf lesson!
